September 2023
Welcome to fifth grade! By now you have learned that I am your teacher. I am super excited to meet all of you and to get started with our year! Here are some things you can be doing during these last days of summer to get you ready for the amazing year ahead:
1. Continue to read lots of great books! We will spend some time at the beginning of the year sharing what we have read and making book recommendations to others.
2. Practice your multiplication facts! We will start the year off by reviewing multiplication and division strategies. Can you remember how to solve the following two problems?
a) 25 X 13 =
b) 248 ÷ 7 =
3. Think about one personal and one academic goal for this school year. What is something you really want to work hard to do well?
4. If there is anything you would like me to know about you before the school year starts, you have any questions, or you just want to reach out and say hello, send me an email. I am happy to hear from you and to answer any questions you might have.
5. Lastly, and most importantly, enjoy the rest of your summer!
